Province in focus: British Columbia as of March 2025
Employment in the health care and social assistance sector increased by 6,600 jobs (+1.6%) in March. Recognizing the need for more professionals, the provincial government is launching a campaign to recruit doctors and nurses from the United States. The plan will fast-track the recognition of American healthcare workers’ credentials and remove the need for further assessment, examination or training. The campaign will begin this Spring and will highlight job opportunities in key areas including cancer care, emergency departments and rural communities.
